Grid resilience and cybersecurity have become strategic priorities for the European Union as the energy system undergoes rapid decarbonisation and digitalisation alongside the growing integration of renewable energy. The ongoing transformation of electric power systems into smart grids has significantly expanded the sector's cybersecurity exposure: while advanced sensing, communication, automation, and data-driven control technologies improve efficiency, flexibility, and the integration of renewables, they also introduce complex cyber-physical interdependencies and new vulnerabilities across technical and organisational domains.
In response, BRIDGE has published Case Study #14, dedicated to grid resilience and cybersecurity. The publication brings together the perspectives of several European projects working on this topic, offering an overview of the approaches adopted across the BRIDGE community to strengthen resilience and address these emerging risks.
